This year, Speedcore Italia is taking over the continent with a European tour. We will do this together with local collaboration partners, combining our own forces with those of talents on the spot. In April, our first event takes place in Krakow, Poland, together with Terror Heaven. Metzger, founder of Terror Heaven, takes you on a journey of how this all became a thing.

Maciej, also known as Metzger, is a 30-year old hardcore lover from the south of Poland. He's a sales worker with a big interest in history, politics, and football, and stands behind the DJ decks since 2019. His introduction with hardcore/terror was a pretty unique one: "When I was 15, I watched a show on Discovery Channel called 'The Real Football Factories', about football fans in different countries. There was an episode about the Netherlands, with Feyenoord fans who liked to hit raves before the matches. Even Paul Elstak was interviewed here. This is where I heard my first track that I still love today: Rotterdam Hooligans by Rotterdam Terror Corps."
If Metzger has to describe his style, he says that he likes to mix different genres with each other. "Usually I start with early hardcore and finish with uptempo, terror, or speedcore. Towards the end, I like to push the tempo to its limits, so people need to rest after my set. That's why I often play last or second to last most of the time haha."
Heaven broke open
Alongside his career as a DJ, Metzger is also the brain behind Terror Heaven, a special collective in Poland focused on hardcore music. "It started in 2018, when I was just going to raves", he says. "I met some DJs and invited them to throw a party in my hometown Tarnów. The event was supposed to be called 'Tarnderdome', but we eventually went with Terror Heaven."
After the successful first edition, he organized multiple other editions and even went abroad. "Krakow is our main city, but we also teamed up with crews from Germany, France, Spain and a few other countries. This lets us discover other scenes and meet people who love hard music as much as we do."
Planning the takeover
The connection between Terror Heaven and Speedcore Italia already started a long ago. "I've been following Speedcore Italia almost from the start and I always dreamt of doing something together. So one day, I reached out to Nekrosystem with an invitation to come to Poland. We started talking and one thing led to another. This made us collabing for the Speedcore Italia on Tour event in Krakow. It's a huge deal and I'm super happy SCI chose to come to my beloved Krakow for the first stop of the tour. I'm sure we'll create pure madness together!"
This was not the only thing that came to this conversation. During Deadtown 14, Metzger made his debut performance at an SCI event. "It was my first time at Deadtown and my first speedcore-only gig. It was insane! I tried to give my hardest sound and I think people liked it, although some said 300-400 BPM was too slow haha."
Prepare for impact
For Metzger, this event is something special and unique. "Having the top European terror/speedcore acts in Poland isn't something you see every day", he says. "Our scene is still growing, and early hardcore and uptempo are the most popular styles here. But I'm sure the no-BPM-limit vibe will make people completely lose themselves."
The Speedcore Italia on Tour in Krakow will take place soon, on the 1oth of April. Metzger is ready: "It's gonna be an honor to host SCI in Krakow. I'm counting on an unforgettable night and I wanna invite all the brave ones to come!"
Thank you very much Metzger for this interview and of course the invitation to Poland. And for all of our dedicated extremeheads that are in the surroundings, we hope to see you in Krakow. For more info, check our socials.
